Man, 87, fights forlife after A1 crash

An 87-year-old Doncaster man is fighting for his life after a collision on the northbound A1M near Skellow service station.

Police said a Hyundai Accent car hit the rear of a blue Renault Laguna on Thursday. The driver of the Hyundai, the 87-year-old man, was taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary where his condition was described as life-threatening. A passenger in the Renault, a 68-year-old Newcastle-upon-Tyne woman, was taken to hospital with chest pains and later discharged.
