Man arrested after assault in Leeds leaves victim seriously injured

Police investigating a serious assault in Leeds have arrested a 24-year-old man.

Officers were called to reports of an incident near Foundry Approach in Harehills at around 4.45am on Saturday.

A police spokesman said a 49-year-old man had been taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.
