Man arrested after serious collision on road under the Humber Bridge

Two people were seriously injured during a crash on a road which runs beneath the Humber Bridge.

Humberside Police today appealed for witnesses to the collision on the A63 westbound in Hessle.

It happened at 7am on Saturday when a black VW Golf and a silver Renault Clio crashed.

A spokesman said: "Two people, who were occupants of the Clio, sustained serious injuries.

"The driver of the Golf, a 30-year-old man, was arrested for causing serious injury by dangerous driving before being released under investigation. He sustained minor injuries.

"We want to hear from anyone who saw the VW Golf travelling along the A63 that morning and can provide us with an account of what they witnessed. We are particularly interested in hearing from the driver of a silver Honda CRV who may have seen the collision."
