Man arrested and bailed over indecent exposures

A 42-YEAR-old man has been arrested in connection with a series of indecent exposures that have terrorised woman on Harrogate's famous Stray.

As many as 10 women had been targeted and police had warned lone

females to stay away from the Stray after dark because of fears the incidents could become more serious.

The man jumped towards the women from behind bushes and trees.

He had been described as wearing nothing but a black Russian hat and work boots and aged between 30 and 40, about 6ft with a pale, sickly complexion.

Harrogate CID said the arrest came after months of intensive inquiries and that a man had been released on bail.
