Man charged in murder inquiry
a man has been charged with murder following the death of a woman in Withernsea.
Police were called to Heather Avenue in the town shortly before 2am on Sunday. The victim has now been named as Petra Atkinson.
“Her family is currently being supported by specially trained police officers and they have asked for some privacy to come to terms with their loss,” a spokeswoman for Humberside Police said.
A man has been charged with her murder and is due to appear before Hull Magistrates Court today.
