Man charged with murder over headless man found in suitcase near Sheffield

A man has been charged with murder following the discovery of a badly burned body with no head and limbs found in a suitcase near Woodhead Pass.

The murder victim was found close to Sheffield. The body was badly burnt and the man’s head and limbs missing.

The body was found inside a suitcase in a lay-by off the A628, one of the main roads between Sheffield and Manchester. It was discovered just east of Tintwistle and north of Valehouse and Rhodeswood reservoirs at 12.30pm on Monday, October 10. Police believe it was left in the lay-by sometime between 9pm and midnight on Sunday, October 9.

Tonight, Derbyshire Police have charged a man with murder.

A spokesman for the force said: “Ming Jiang (42), of Falconwood Way in Manchester, was charged with murder this afternoon (Sunday October 23) and is due to appear before magistrates at Chesterfield Justice Centre tomorrow.

“The name of the alleged murder victim will not be released until his family is informed of his death.”
