Man charged over message on internet

A HOLIDAYMAKER arrested for allegedly writing on Twitter that he was about to blow up Doncaster Airport has been charged with sending a "grossly offensive message".

Paul Chambers, 26, from Balby, Doncaster is believed to be the first person in the UK charged for comments made on Twitter.

He was arrested under the Terrorism Act a week after the message was posted.

The comment was posted on January 6, nine days before he was due to fly to Ireland.

He is expected to appear before Doncaster magistrates next week.
