Man critical after Rotherham attack

A MAN is critically ill in hospital following an alleged assault in the Kimberworth Park area of Rotherham.

Emergency services were called to a property on Lapwater Walk following concerns raised for a local resident.

A 44-year-old man was found unconscious with serious head injuries. The man was taken to the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield but later transferred to the Royal Hallamshire Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

A 46-year-old local man has been arrested in connection with this incident. He remains in custody assisting police with enquiries.
