Man found deadin blazing car
A man was found dead in a burning car on the hard shoulder of a motorway yesterday.
The Independent Police Complaints Commission has been informed of the incident on the M180 in North Lincolnshire after it emerged that the car had been followed by a Lincolnshire Police patrol vehicle shortly before the fire.
Humberside Police said the car was found burning on the hard shoulder of the westbound carriageway, between junctions 3 and 4, near Scunthorpe, at 11.49am.
A spokeswoman said: “Unfortunately the sole occupant of the vehicle has died and officers are now in the process of tracing and informing next of kin.”
