Mr Opray, who is believed to have lived alone, was last seen last Thursday evening when he left Mecca Bingo, in Clough Road, in a taxi.

Police want to speak to the taxidriver who took him home or anyone who saw him after 9.26pm in the evening.

He was found by a “member of the public”, who raised the alarm at 3.16pm on Saturday.

A police cordon remained at the address today while investigations continue.
