Man grabbed teenager near school

police patrols have been stepped up after a man approached an 18-year-old girl near a school in Brighouse, police said last night.

The man had been standing at a bus stop on Halifax Road at around 11.30am on Thursday, May 5.

He is alleged to have followed the young woman and engaged her in conversation during which time he grabbed her shoulder before she walked away.

She was not injured during the incident.

An elderly woman was stood close to him at the bus stop and police last night appealed for this woman to come forward.

The man is described as aged between 50 and 60 years old, white, 5ft 11ins to 6ft, well built and with thin brown, grey hair combed back.

He was wearing a pale yellow jacket and brown trousers.

Officers from the Lower Valley Neighbourhood Policing Team have stepped up patrols in the area to help provide reassurance to the public.
