Man had over 800 indecent images of children

A PERVERT was found to have more than 800 indecent images of children on his computer after raiding his home in Leeds.

West Yorkshire Police were alerted to Dennis Brown’s home in Ullswater Crescent, Woodlesford, following an investigation by colleagues in Gloucestershire.

Leeds Crown Court heard information was received that an innocent website had been
“hijacked” in order for people
to access illegal images of children.

Investigations uncovered a number of internet addresses linked to the site, including Brown’s.

A search warrant was executed at his home and a laptop and computer tower were seized.

A total of 840 pictures were found.

Brown was interviewed and made full admissions of his involvement in downloading the images. He pleaded guilty to 11 offences of making indecent images of a child.

Michael Walsh, mitigating, said Brown still remained with his wife but their relationship had become strained as result of the offences. Mr Walsh said Brown was sorry for his actions. He added: “He has no compulsion to spend time repeating the behaviour.”

Judge Rodney Jameson made Brown the subject of a three-year community order with a requirement to attend a programme to address his offending. He was ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register for five years and banned from working with children.
