Man held after 29hours on bridge
A man who spent 29 hours on a city centre bridge was arrested last night after officers and negotiators "seized an opportunity to intervene", police said.
Specialist hostage and crisis negotiators from West Midlands Police had been at the scene in central Birmingham since 3.45pm on Wednesday.
The man was standing on railings above Paradise Circus, near the city’s central library.
