Man held after father of two stabbed to death on suburban Sheffield street

DETECTIVES hunting the killer of Sheffield father of two stabbed to death on a suburban street today arrested a man.

The 29-year-old victim was attacked in the early hours of Wednesday in Swanbourne Road, Sheffield Lane Top. Police said he had suffered multiple stab wounds.

Detectives, who today arrested a man from the same area of the city, are appealing for witnesses to the attack.

The area was cordoned off for most of yesterday, with police officers guarding the street at both ends.

Detectives, who have not yet named the victim, were combing the area with the aid of forensics officers.
