Man in hospital after ‘drugs and gas’ explosion

A MAN aged 19 is being treated for burns at Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield following an explosion at a house in Bridlington.

The man, who is in a stable condition, suffered burns to his arms and face in the blast, which blew the doors and windows out of the property in Nelson Street just after 7pm last Friday.

Police said the explosion was being linked to the use of butane gas to alter cannabis. “This is a dangerous combination and could easily have fatal consequences,” Supt Darren Downs said.
