Man killed for his television
Police are investigating the murder of a man who was attacked by a gang who forced their way into his home and stole his television.
Keith Redpath, 46, of Tower Street West, Hendon, Sunderland, was stabbed in his bungalow in the early hours of Saturday before collapsing in the street outside.
A passer-by called an ambulance and Mr Redpath was taken to Sunderland Royal Infirmary, where he later died from a single stab wound to his chest.
Four men were last night being questioned by police.
