Man killed by stolen wrong-way van
A highways worker was killed after being hit by a stolen van believed to have been travelling the wrong way on the A1, police said. He was named as 46-year-old Ernest Mathers from Doncaster.
The collision occurred just before 2am on Friday on the northbound carriageway at Tickencote, near Stamford, Lincolnshire. A 27-year-old man has been arrested.
