A MAN has appeared before York magistrates charged with the attempted murder of two teenagers after he allegedly drove his van over a tent where they were camping.

Benjamin Allerton, of Selby, appeared before York Magistrates Court yesterday accused of the attempted murders of a boy, 16, and girl aged 13.

The pair were camping in a field in Barlby, near Selby, in the early hours of Sunday morning when they were rammed by the vehicle.
