Man still critical after bus collision that closed A58 out of Leeds

A MAN who was seriously injured after colliding with a bus has been identified by police but remains in hospital.

The pedestrian was hit by a single decker bus travelling on the outbound A58 Easterly Road between Oakwood Lane and Hollin Park Mount, Roundhay, yesterday at around 7.55am.

The incident led to the closure of the outbound lanes as the man was rushed to Leeds General Infirmary with serious injuries.

Officers were initially unable to identify the 61-year-old local man but have since tracked down and informed his family following a police appeal.

Anyone who witnessed the incident should call police on 101, quoting log 229 of Tuesday May 24, with information.
