Man threatened vulnerable woman in '˜despicable' attempted robbery in York
An e-fit image has been released of the suspect who entered the woman’s home in St Benedict Road, York, before demanding money from her on Sunday at around 8.50pm.
The victim managed to call for help and the man fled empty-handed.

Hide AdThe suspect was described as white with a dirty face, aged in his 30s, 5ft 6ins tall, with a moustache and scruffy beard.
He was wearing a long sleeved black hooded jacket, trousers and dark trainers with white soles.
Detective Constable Elaine Arnott, of North Yorkshire Police, said: “Whilst the victim was left physically unhurt she remains in a state of shock.
“I am determined to identify the man responsible for this despicable yet isolated incident.”

Hide AdFollowing the incident police are reminding residents to be extra vigilant during the summer months and keep windows and doors locked where possible.
