Man tries to pull girl, 14, into vehicle

The girl was walking along Birley Spa Lane, near to the Golden Plover pub, at 10.10pm when a car pulled up alongside her.

A police spokesman said: “It is believed a man has told her to get into the car before grabbing her by the arm and attempting to drag her into the vehicle.

“The complainant was able to struggle free from the man’s grasp before running down Birley Spa Lane, where the vehicle has tried to follow her, before she was able to leave the area.”

The car involved is described as an “old-style” maroon-coloured saloon, while the driver was Asian and between 48 and 50 years old.
