Man who spoke to woman waiting for taxi in Bradford could be key witness for investigators

Police are trying to trace a key witness as the investigation continues into a serious offence committed in Bradford.

The potential witness is described as an Asian male who appeared to be small in stature.

He is believed to have been driving a black Volkswagen Golf in the Tong Street area between 2.30am and 2.45am on Sunday, 30 July.

Detective Inspector Michael Ryan said: “We believe this male spoke to a female who was waiting for a taxi in Tennis Avenue between 2.30am and 2.45am.

“He seemed concerned about her welfare and waited nearby in his vehicle until her taxi arrived.

“We need this male to come forward and speak with our officers as we believe he may have information which could be key to the progress of an ongoing investigation.”

The investigation is being conducted by Bradford District Safeguarding Unit.

It concerns a serious offence for which a 35-year-old man has been arrested and released pending further enquiries.
