Market stalls revamp set to start

Stallholders are looking forward to the completion of a major facelift to their stalls as part of the ongoing modernisation of Keighley Market.

A few weeks ago work was completed on a new floor and the latest phase involves refurbishing the centre stalls in the market with new shop fronts, signs and security roller shutters.

New signs will also be installed on the stalls around the perimeter of the indoor market .

This will complete a seven-year refurbishment programme that has seen more than £2.5m being invested into modernising the shopping centre.

The work to the stalls starts today and to minimise disruption only two stalls a week will be refurbished, with the final two stalls due for completion on November 2. The work to each stall will take place out of trading hours so that the stallholder is only closed for business for a couple of days.

Bradford Council has appointed a Bradford-based shop fitting contractor, IMS, which has more than 30 years experience in commercial and retail interiors to carry out the works to the stalls.
