Masked gunmen attack man in house

The 52-year-old victim was in the living room of the home in Wythenshawe, Manchester, when the raiders struck at 11.30pm on Sunday. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Inquiries are under way into the incident in Wellfield Road, Baguley. Both attackers were white. One was slim and the other medium build.

Detective Inspector Paul Parker said: "I want to assure members of the public that incidents like this are extremely rare in Baguley area. This is an isolated incident and I do not want people to be unduly alarmed.

"We have also increased patrols in the area. What I would say is that if anyone has information that will help us find these men, that they come forward and speak to us so we can identify those responsible."
