Mass fish deathsin Rio de Janeiro
Thousands of dead fish washed up on the shores of a beachside lagoon in Rio de Janeiro.
The official state news service Agencia Brasil said workers cleared nearly 78 tons of fish. There is no immediate estimate of how many died, but several species are involved.
It was thought that increased levels of a harmful algae could be the reason for the mass death of the fish.
