Up to 100 homes have been destroyed by a huge fire in a the Queens area of New York, which was flooded out by superstorm Sandy.
More than 190 firefighters contained the fire in the Breezy Point section, but they were left struggling with some pockets of fire.
A fire department spokesman said one firefighter suffered a minor injury and was taken to a hospital during the operation to control the blaze.
Two people also suffered minor injuries but could be treated at the scene.
Officials said the fire began in an area flooded by Sandy after it began sweeping through the city, though no precise cause has been established so far.
The neighbourhood sits on the Rockaway peninsula, which juts out into the Atlantic Ocean.
