Masters of Light present the North York Moors

It has the largest expanse of heather moorland in England and Wales, one of the largest concentrations of ancient trees in northern England and almost a third of Yorkshire's Scheduled Ancient Monuments.

Little wonder the magic of the North York Moors has inspired professional photographers such as Mike Kipling, John Devli and Brian Jobson

Now a free exhibition inspired by the diverse landscape of the North York Moors National Park begins a run at Sutton Bank National Park Centre.

Masters of Light runs from February 13-22 and is followed by Northern Light, a collection of images from Ryedale-based photographers Janet and Richard Burdon, Tracey Philips and David Sault, from March 19 to 29.

The series concludes from April 1-16 with Light on Land by Chris Ceaser, whose image of Rosedale's old railway is shown. He said: "The North York Moors is a quiet and intimate place which offers stunning scenery throughout."

Sally Smith, the North York Moors National Park Authority's events and exhibitions co-ordinator, added: "We are fortunate to have some wonderful views and iconic buildings and landforms in the North York Moors."
