May 2: Beware phone enquiry charge

Have your say

From: E Baker, Leeds.

MAY I warn everybody not to use the BT 118 500 service for Directory Enquiries? On querying my telephone bill I have discovered that the minimum charge by BT for this service is £4.46! This is a disgraceful amount, particularly as this is the number advertised in the Phone Book. It cannot possibly cost that much to deal with a query.

From: Frank Griffiths, Garfield Court, Nottingham.

HOPING that this winter is at last over, I write my annual letter to thank all employees and contractors of The Yorkshire Post Newspapers for keeping me supplied with the paper (particularly to Nottingham). Reading The Yorkshire Post is one of the pleasures of life.
