The campaign is designed to encourage members of the public to share a little of what they have to help save the lives of half a million children about to starve to death in famine-hit Somalia.

The clip shows McGregor saying: “Right now 250 children are dying in Somalia every day. That’s one little girl or boy dead every six minutes. It’s simple: they’re hungry, we can help. It’s time to share.”

The Trainspotting star has travelled the world with Unicef to see the organisation at work.
