Meadowhall lends its support to 'Dancing on Ice' partners

SOAP star and Dancing on Ice contestant Hayley Tamaddon will have support from South Yorkshire tomorrow after she was given specialist kit by a shop in Meadowhall.

Emmerdale actress Tamaddon, who played Delilah Dingle, is currently in the last eight of ITV's celebrity ice skating contest along with professional partner Daniel Whiston.

The pair, who have been friends since childhood, have been tipped by bookies to win the competition.

Meadowhall management teamed up with the centre's specialist athletics shop Sweat Shop to provide clothing designed for ice skating, which Tamaddon wore last week.

She said: "The regional support that we have received since the start of the series has been seriously overwhelming, Daniel and I are so grateful for this and just hope that the public will keep us in.

"Meadowhall has been great and for them now to be showing me such support is really quite special. Yorkshire's renowned for getting behind their own, but experiencing that for yourself is nothing short of breath taking."

The shopping centre said it would continue to support Tamaddon during the final stages of the competition, including running special feature programmes on the centre's videowall.

A Dancing on Ice diary written by the actress is also on the centre's website where shoppers can enter a competition to win the same kit supplied by Sweat Shop.

Centre director Darren Pearce said: "Meadowhall is really proud to get behind our regional representative on this year's Dancing on Ice, and on behalf of the centre we wish her the very best with the series."
