Media tycoon pays tribute to fumes-death daughter

A MULTI-MILLIONAIRE has paid tribute to his "beautiful, larger-than-life" daughter who died of suspected carbon monoxide poisoning.

Zoe Anderson, 24, the daughter of magazine tycoon Chris Anderson, was found dead in the shower at her family home in Lansdown, Bath, on December 28.

At first it was thought the neuroscience graduate had slipped and banged her head, but later it was found she had collapsed from carbon monoxide poisoning.

Mr Anderson, 54, the founder of the Future Publishing stable of magazines, said he heard the news while on a ski-lift in the Canadian resort Whistler.

He said: "Riding a ski-lift on a glorious clear day in Whistler I got the impossible phone call.

"Zoe, my beautiful, larger-than-life 24-year-old daughter had been found dead at our home in Bath, England.

"At the time, it looked liked she'd slipped and fallen in the shower. It now emerges she collapsed from carbon monoxide poisoning, whose cause is still being investigated."

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said: "A 36-year-old man from Somerset was arrested in connection with the case on January 14 on suspicion of manslaughter. He was questioned at Bath police station and bailed until February 28."

Mr Anderson, who now runs non-for-profit organisation TED (Technology, Entertainment and Design) and lives mainly in America, spoke of her funeral, held on January 8.

"We gathered in England with friends and family from all around the world to celebrate an extraordinary life," he said.

"Amidst the terrifying grief, some light began to shine through as we marvelled at the ways her life had touched so many people."

A tribute page set up on Facebook described the last month of Miss Anderson's life as "one of the happiest months of her life" as she prepared for an internship in New York.
