Mel B may adopt to complete family

judge in the X Factor Mel B has revealed she would like to have one more child before she is too old.

The mother-of-three said she and husband, Stephen Belafonte, had been discussing it for some time, and the couple would consider adopting to complete their family.

In an interview with Hello! magazine, she said: “We’ve been talking about it for two years. I’m 40 next year; I want to have one more baby.”

Belafonte said adoption was an option that he favoured, adding: “I think there are so many kids in the world that we could give a chance to.”

Mel had her first child, Phoenix, with ex-husband Jimmy Gulzar, her second, Angel, from a short relationship with comic Eddie Murphy, and Madison with Belafonte.

She also said she would soon be having an eye operation to correct a problem from laser surgery which went wrong 15 years ago.

She is to undergo a cornea transplant to restore her vision problems.

“I can’t see at all out of my left eye. The lasering went wrong, so this will be totally life-changing.”

The singer and actress, who found fame with the Spice Girls, ruled out cosmetic procedures.

“I don’t want to have botox or surgery because I want to have expression in my face, but I want to look after myself. I’m not an idiot. Looks do count in this business,” she said.
