Method in his madness

Actor Tim Pigott-Smith is taking on one of Shakespeare’s most famous roles at the West Yorkshire Playhouse in Leeds.

He tackles the role of King Lear at the theatre until October 22, directed by the playhouse’s artistic director, Ian Brown. King Lear, a tragedy that explores loyalty, old age and madness, is widely regarded as one of the playwright’s greatest works.
