Military band to open soldiers’ charity spring fair

A MILITARY band will perform a beat retreat at the launch of spring fair raising money for soldiers in need in Yorkshire.

The Heavy Cavalry and Cambrai Band will appear at a preview evening tomorrow ahead of ABF The Soldiers’ Charity’s fair at Tennants Auction Centre in Leyburn, North Yorkshire, on Thursday.

A charity auction will be held on the night, when guests will also get chance to preview stalls selling everything from jewellery and fashion to interiors, kitchenware and food.

Tickets to the evening, which starts at 5pm, cost £12.50 from the charity’s office in Catterick Garrison. Entry to the fair, from 10am to 4pm on Thursday, costs £4. For more details call 01748 874127.
