A fire service spokesman said about 15,000 litres of milk leaked from the tanker.

He added: “Milk is toxic if it gets into water courses so we did our best to stop the leak. The tanker was on its side and the milk was leaking from an inspection hatch on the top of the vehicle. The milk was contained in a dip in the field and did not affect any water courses.”
