Minister told ofrecovery support

Regional Minister for Yorkshire, Rosie Winterton, met senior bank executives in Leeds yesterday to hear an update on their role in supporting businesses and economic recovery in Yorkshire and the Humber.

The main UK clearing banks including Barclays, HSBC, Lloyds, RBS, Santander and Yorkshire Bank are all members of Financial Leeds Banking Group, who together with Business Link and Yorkshire Forward, have regularly met representatives of regional and local business organisations since the start of the financial crisis to discuss lending and access to finance issues.

Yesterday’s meeting discussed topics including support schemes such as the new Finance Yorkshire fund.
