Missile thrown at lorry from M62 bridge

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a lorry driver narrowly escaped injury when a missile thrown from a bridge on the M62 smashed his windscreen.

An unidentified object was thrown at the truck as it passed under a bridge on the eastbound carriageway, close to junction 36, at about 5.45pm on Monday, March 5. The driver was not hurt and there are no reports of damage to other vehicles. Police say there were a number of people on the bridge at the time.

A spokeswoman for Humberside Police added: “This type of incident is dangerous and could have resulted in a something more significant happening to the lorry driver and other road users. The M62 is a very busy stretch of road and thankfully nobody sustained any injuries as a result of the actions of these individuals.”
