‘Missing April’s blood found’ at accused’s home

BLOOD and bone fragments were found at the home of former abattoir worker Mark Bridger who is accused of murdering five-year-old April Jones, a court heard.

Elwen Evans QC, prosecuting, told the jury at the opening of his trial at Mold Crown Court yesterday that traces of blood matching April’s DNA were found in his living room, hallway and bathroom, and bone fragments consistent with that of a juvenile skull were found around the hearth.

Bridger, of Ceinws, denies abducting and murdering April, and unlawfully disposing of and concealing her body with intent to pervert the course of justice.
