Missing soldiers' details go on line

Details of Second World War soldiers reported as missing in action are among historic information published online for the first time today.

Family history website Ancestry.co.uk launched more than 200 years of newspaper clippings from the 18th century to 1976, including obituaries and unclaimed wills. Some 40,000 births, 64,000 marriages and 95,000 deaths are in 335,000 newspaper cuttings, including missing soldiers’ names.
