Model scouts on lookout for teenage star at Meadowhall

PROFESSIONAL model scouts will be at Sheffield's Meadowhall shopping centre this weekend looking for the "next big thing."

The scouts are seeking out competitors for the "Miss Fresh Teen" contest and Meadowhall will be their only stop in Yorkshire.

Launched at The Clothes Show Live last December, the competition aims to find a girl to model for a series of leading brands including Barry M cosmetics, Hanna S and Smart Beauty.

Contestants scouted at Meadowhall will be invited to take part in a fashion shoot next month. Selected contestants will then be entered into the Miss Fresh Teen Yorkshire competition, which will run on the Miss Fresh Teen website. The winner of the Yorkshire round will then be selected to represent the region in the national final, where they will be up against 11 other girls from across the country.

Angie Beasley, event organiser for Miss Fresh Teen, said: "The scouts are determined that they will find their next biggest model at Meadowhall as the centre attracts so many beautiful fashionistas who love the top brands.

"We're expecting a great turnout and can't wait to get started."

The Miss Fresh Teen national final will be held on June 1 at the Fresh Academy in Watford, where the winner will be given their first professional contract which will involve a trip to Miami, Florida to shoot the Hannah S collection.
