More than 25,000 view police appeal over Claudia Lawrence’s disappearance

A WEBSITE launched by the police to help solve the five-year mystery surrounding the disappearance of Claudia Lawrence has been visited more than 25,000 times in the first week since its launch.

North Yorkshire Police revealed yesterday that the micro-site dedicated to providing updates and renewed appeals for information about the missing York chef had seen 26,454 visits since it was unveiled on Wednesday last week.

The appeal has also now been seen by more than 21,600 people on North Yorkshire Police’s Facebook page.

A further eight calls have been made to the investigation team making a total of 28 calls so far, including those made to Crimewatch on the night of the appeal on Wednesday last week.

Miss Lawrence was aged 35 when she was last seen walking near her York home on March 18, 2009. The missing person inquiry was upgraded to a murder investigation the following month.
