More helpers at Eureka! to guide children

A scheme at the National Children’s Museum is to help even more families of disabled children enjoy the Halifax attraction.

Eureka! Museum’s Helping Hands Project is opening up its next round of free Saturday and holiday clubs for disabled children and their families to people across Kirklees, Leeds, Wakefield and Bradford as well as Calderdale.

The regular clubs, launched last year, offer families the opportunity to take part in specially designed activities supported by trained members of staff before exploring a different part of the popular children’s museum each week.

During the project’s first year, 85 families from across Calderdale were welcomed to the clubs. The first club will take place on September 29 for families of visually impaired children.
