Morley first for trialover expenses
Former Labour MP Elliot Morley will be the first to be tried on charges arising from the parliamentary expenses investigation, it was agreed yesterday.
The former Scunthorpe MP, three other former MPs, including former Barnsley Central Labour MP Eric Illsley, and two peers, deny fiddling their expenses.
They will be tried in separate trials from next month to February at Southwark Crown Court in London. They all deny the charges.
