‘Most of the time I don’t think about the future, I just think about the next day’

More than a third of children say their family struggles to pay the bills.

15 per cent of children said they had gone without new shoes when they had outgrown their old ones. A similar number go without a warm winter coat.

29 per cent of parents said they cant’ afford to have their children’s friends over for tea and 10 per cent miss out on celebrating a birthday.

13 per cent of children said they had stopped asking for anything because they know their parents can’t afford it.
