Mother meets missing son on birthday trip

A MOTHER was reunited with her missing son on a day out to mark his birthday.

Patricia Beadleson came home to Hull eight weeks ago after a week's holiday to find her 47-year-old son Steven had gone missing. His car was later found abandoned on Beverley Westwood.

On Monday Mrs Beadleson was in York with her son's girlfriend and two daughters, who asked to go to York Dungeon – and met up with her son.

She said he had been unwell and had not realised people were searching for him. He had walked many miles, up along the coast and inland on the Wolds Way.

She said: "It was his birthday and we knew it was going to be an emotional day and we just found him.

"His girlfriend's daughters went to get tickets to go to the Dungeon and as they went in we looked across the road and he was there, just sitting on the wall.

"It was just meant to be. It is absolutely a pure coincidence. It is wonderful to have him home."
