Motorcyclist dead and two injured in East Yorkshire collision

A motorcyclist has died following a collision with a car that left two other people in hospital.

A 50-year-old man from East Yorkshire was riding a white BMW S1000XR motorcycle when it collided with a grey Ford Fiesta at the junction between the B1249 and an unclassified road leading to Kilham, near Driffield at about 12.25pm yesterday.

The motorcyclist was taken by air ambulance to Hull Royal Infirmary but he died.

The car driver, a 72-year-old man, and his passenger, a 75-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries and were taken to Scarborough Hospital for treatment.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact Humberside Police on 101, referring to log 251 of 10 April.
