Motorcyclist seriously hurt after colliding with car and van in Harrogate

Police are appealing for witnesses following a crash that left a motorcyclist in a serious condition in hospital.

The 28-year-old male motorcyclist, who was riding a silver 500cc Kawasaki, crashed into a grey Volvo XC90 on Skipton Road, Harrogate, at the junction of Coppice Way yesterday at around 5.40pm.

He was travelling away from the New Park roundabout when he crashed into the Volvo, leaving the road and colliding with a parked Citroen Berlingo van.

The rider suffered serious injuries and was taken by Yorkshire Air Ambulance to Leeds General Infirmary. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The 44-year-old female driver of the Volvo was shaken but otherwise uninjured.

Witnesses are urged call North Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting reference number NYP-31032016-0424.
