Motorists face delays after accident on Leeds Inner Ring Road

Motorists heading into Leeds from the north of the city faced delays this morning after an accident on the Inner Ring Road.

One lane of the westbound A58 (M) Inner Ring Road after A58 Park Lane, was closed because of an accident at 8am involving two cars.

West Yorkshire Police said no-one was hurt when the grey Ford Focus and silver Vauxhall Corsa were in collision just after the first tunnel on the ring road.

But the vehicles were blocking the carriageway and the lane closure caused tailbacks stretching to Sheepscar junction.

Police said that by around 8.10am the road had been cleared.
