Mountain bike World Cup in Yorkshire's Dalby Forest - Video preview

THE world's best mountain bikers will be presented with trophies crafted from Yorkshire wood after the first stage in the region of a global competition.

Woodturner Philip Greenwood, from Hutton le Hole in North Yorkshire, has created 22 handmade trophies to be awarded to the winners of this weekend's event in Dalby Forest.

Each of the trophies has been created by Mr Greenwood, pictured with Jonny Clay, event director for British Cycling, using beech wood for the gold prize, ash for silver and oak for bronze.

It is the first time the UCI Mountain Bike Cross-Country World Cup has been to Dalby Forest.
