MP takes to factory floor

The Shadow Secretary for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs visited a Yorkshire biscuit factory to meet jobless young people.

The Wakefield Labour MP met unemployed young people at Fox’s Biscuits in Batley yesterday as staff gave them advice about job-hunting and CV-writing and interview tips as part of Feeding Britain’s Future – Skills for Work Month 2013.

It was one of eight workshops held by 2 Sisters Food Group, which owns Fox’s Biscuits, across six of its sites as part of the scheme, led by research and training charity IGD.

Mrs Creagh said: “The Government is failing to turn things around. Thousands of young people in Wakefield are struggling to find work. That’s why I’m pleased 2 Sisters is offering local young people the opportunity to take part in this innovative scheme.”
